I started Didier Custom Homes, Inc. in 1994 as a result of my love affair with building that began in high school when my brother and I helped my parents design and build our new home. This experience of building our house with our own hands was exhilarating — we started with a plot of land and a blank piece of paper, and from that created a beautiful house.

Seeing our home come together was magical. I find that I feel that way about every home I help create. To me each home is a living work of art and the people who I choose to work on my houses are true artisans.

My wife Ellen and I have had the privilege of raising our four boys and are now empty nesters and Grandparents. One of the reasons that I enjoy managing my own company is that it allows me to control my schedule so that I can spend time with my family. I feel fortunate to live in the Fox Valley area where I can have the right balance of work and family.

Didier Custom Homes has allowed me to not only build beautiful homes for my customers but to also build relationships with my clients who become friends. It is a joy to help other families build homes that they will raise their children in and create lifelong memories. After all these years building, I still experience a thrill walking a homesite with customers prior to starting construction, reflecting on the fact that in a short few months a home will emerge that will provide shelter, comfort, and a place of joy for their friends and family. It still seems magical.
